Method:
- Use small cooker and for that use 'our school time tiffen box' . This way, you can cook just 1/2 cup rice and along with that you can cook some veg.& dal for 'koottu' or you can keep 1 tab spoon dal for sambar.
- Make 'potato spicy curry' , and use it as side dish, use it as 'masala' for masala dosa. Or Use the left over potato spicy curry, to make 'pav baji' . Just add 'pav baaji' masala in it and toast bread. that is all your Yummy pav baaji is ready to eat.
- While making Oats, just add one or two spoons 'Oval tin' or 'Complan' with milk. Your delicious Oats is ready.
- If I want only 'Koottu sadam' I will keep rice + yellow moong dal + cut veg.( beans, carrot, cabbage or chow chow..) togather in the cooker. After opening the cooker pour 1 cup water in that. Mix well. Add 'kuttu podi', salt and curry leaves in that. Just keep it on the stove. In another stove, make seasoning if you want. Add the seasoning to this. Mix well and eat !
- If you have Bread, take 2 slices of bread apply 'Puli Paste', and eat. If you want you can toast the bread.
- Make a quick & delicious soup, take one packet of 'Maggi Masala' ( to prepare maggi, I will use my own masala, and I will always keep these masala packets to make some other dishes). In a coffee mug put maggi masala, 1 sp tomato paste and pour 200 ml water. MW for 2 min. Your soup and toast is ready to eat.
- To make 'poricha kootu' you use 'kootu podi' generally. Instead of that if you use 'dosa milagai podi' especially containing 'til', will give a different taste with good aroma. No need to add coconut also.
- Just fry bell pepper and onion with agino moto and salt, in small quantity of oil. Use this as side dish for chappati or mix with cooked rice or with cooked noodles. You can stuff this in bread also.
- Pour 2 sp oil in a pan. Crush 1 packet of maggi and fry. Remove and put it on a paper towel. Put the fried maggi in a container and add salt, asafetida and red chilly powder.Shake well by putting the lid. Enjoy the 'Maggi Sev'Bow You can add garam masala also.
- Instead of 'Rasam Powder', you can use maggi masala and 1 sp crushed black pepper and cumin seeds to make Rasam. If you dont have time to cook the thur dal for rasam replace it with 1 sp of 'parrapu podi'
- You can add organo salt or magi salt or garam masala powder or ‘zater’ in the dough to get many varieties of masala chappati. You can also add ‘ Batsha’s pav baaji masala in the dough.
- If you want to make chappati round , first just press the dough in the chappati maker ( not the electrical one, the old one) so you will get a small round of chappati. Then you make it slightly big. Amma trained me like this only. Now a days without chappati maker’s help I will make ‘pakka’ round chappati.
- You can make sweet chappati or fruit chappati. While mixing the flour, you can add banana or apple to make fruit chappati.
- If you want sugar chappati add one or two tsp. Sugar while mixing the flour. Then eat with sugar syrup or honey.
- I used to stuff chappati with mashed potato and panner masala. They are my favorites.
